In this episode of the Future Grind podcast, host Ryan O’Shea speaks with Australia’s own Meow-Ludo Disco Gamma Meow-Meow. Meow - and yes, that’s his real name - was crowned a “True Leaders Game Changer” by the Australian Financial Review for his efforts to democratize science and technology. These efforts include co-founding Australia’s first open-access molecular biology lab, BioFoundry, in 2014 and being the Science Party candidate for an Australian House of Representatives seat in 2017. Meow teaches courses on cryptocurrency and blockchain, and is currently at the center of a very important legal case that could set a precedent in the emerging field of cyborg law. He’ll update everyone on this case during a talk his he giving at BDYHAX, the human augmentation conference, which will be February 2-4, 2018, in Austin, Texas.

If you’d like to hear more about this, or see any of the other speakers at BDYHAX (including yours truly), you can save 20% off of your conference passes by entering code FUTUREGRIND at checkout at bdyhax.com. But you’ll have to hurry! This discount code expires on January 25, 2018

Jan 10, 2018

In this episode of the Future Grind podcast, host Ryan O'Shea speaks with the controversial, semi-anonymous, and enigmatic biohacking pioneer Lepht Anonym. Lepht has been featured by WIRED and the BBC and has been documenting it's biohacking experiments on its blog, Sapiens Anonym, since 2007.

Lepht is most well known for a 2010 talk titled "Cybernetics for the Masses" that it gave in at the 27th Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin, Germany, which detailed Lepht's DIY self-surgery & "homebrewed" implants. This has been referred to as "Scrapheap Tranhumanism", which is also the title of a 2010 article that Lepht wrote for Humanity+ Magazine.

*A word of warning - Biohacking is dangerous and things can go wrong. I strongly advise against self-surgery of any kind, and you should consult with a trained medical doctor before moving forward with any type of human augmentation.
